Sabiha Majgaonkar

I am a theatre artist with over 19 years of experience in the performing arts, with multiple productions under my belt as an actor, director, producer, and theatre teacher. In recognition of my contributions to the arts and the artistic community, the UAE Government awarded me the prestigious Golden Visa. I received the Best Director Award for my debut full-length production of Agnes (Agnes of God by John Pielmeier) in 2017 and was the Best Actor runner-up at the Alex Broun Festival in 2016.

After balancing an 18-year corporate career in Removals and Relocations with my passion for theatre, I transitioned full-time into the arts, managing a theatre and organizing multiple successful festivals and events over the last several years. I am the founder and festival director of Theme8, a short play and short film festival known for its competitive and thematic approach.

As a theatre teacher, I believe in building artists who understand all elements of theatre and theatrical productions. Through my classes and workshops for acting and directing, I have put up multiple student productions on stage.

Beyond theatre, I am a poet in English, Hindi, and Urdu, and an avid reader with a deep interest in philosophy, photography, painting, and filmmaking. I am also committed to social causes aimed at empowering women and marginalized communities through my work and advocacy.

While I have written poetry for close to three decades, I recently ventured into creative writing, penning several short plays and stories. In 2024, I became a published author with my debut novel, Kehkashan, a women's fiction about heartbreak and healing.
